I'm a Journalism student at Staffordshire University, with a healthy interest in The X-Files. From the very first episode, I have been captivated and enthralled by this groundbreaking drama series, and the on-screen chemistry between its two stars.

The X-Files United Kingdom intends to be a useful site to add to the already excellent X-Files fan community. It is not a spoiler site (although I'll take them if you want to throw them at me!), it only provides specific information about when, and how to watch the X-Files in the UK. The idea came after many frustrating emails to the BBC during the series break in season 6 (June 2000).

What's your name?: Mark Tinsley.

Do you use any online names?: Yep, "tinnypriv". (see me in the XF credits)

Ok, you'll have to explain that one: Do I have to? (interviewer hits self on head) Ok then. Second name is Tinsley, so some jokers figured a good nickname at school would be "Tinny". Boy, was that hell. Anyway, I signed up to hotmail in '95 with the email addy tinny@hotmail.com - well, that one got promptly spammed for all it was worth, so I stopped using it. Reading "hot girls waiting here XXX" got boring after the 60th time (note I actually looked 60 times though) Then I got a new one: tinnypriv@hotmail.com with the "priv" standing for private. Clever? I thought so...

How old are you?: 20. 21 in April 2002.

How old do you feel after making this site?: About 64. I don't even earn enough for a pension. Send money to the usual addy please.

When did you setup xfilesuk?: Sep 9th 2000. The site was completely redesigned and moved to its own domain on Jan 2, 2001. You can find a little preview of what the old one looked like by checking out the store.

How much does it cost to run?: £10 every two years for the domain, £100 a year for the hosting, and about £50 a month in phone bills updating it. No, none of the affiliation proceeds go towards maintaining any of this expense. Woe is me :)

Pets?: Cat named Sooty who is 12 years old. Getting my own hamster soon (Yay Sarah, thanks for the cage)

Favourite joke?: Two oranges walk into a bar, the one says to the other: 'You're round.'

How long have you been a fan of the x files?: Since the pilot, in 1994. I stopped watching for a lot of season 5, but started again after the movie. I started using the internet for philedom in June 2000. 

Favourite/worst episode?: Tunguska/Fight Club.

Music? Hobbies? Anything vaguely resembling a life? : Alanis Morissette, Moby, Barenaked Ladies, B52's, Air, Beatles, Belinda Carlisle (bite me), Bon Jovi, Everclear, The Clash, Travis, Oasis and Queen. Hobby wise this site takes up a lot of my time - *but*: going to pubs, clubs and the usual student stuff. I also have been Kickboxing for the last 2/3 years. If I could be bothered to pay for the belt/certificate cost, I'd more than likely be on Yellow. Give me ten years and third dan will be mine! grrr.... :)
